Complete Care, Without Delay
At Gastro EndoCare, we provide comprehensive and immediate care, from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up, without sending you onto long waiting lists after your endoscopy. Unlike most private endoscopy clinics that are limited to the diagnostic exam without providing necessary follow-up or treatment, Dr. Coussa considers it essential to ensure full-patient care, without relying on tests performed by other physicians that might be interpreted differently, thus enabling a complete and coherent evaluation of your condition from the start. All digestive and hepatopancreatic diseases (esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, pancreas, etc.) are managed on-site, in a professional and welcoming environment.
Transparent Pricing With No Hidden Fees And Specialized Consultation Included
Direct care by Dr. Coussa, gastroenterologist, spares you additional costs often generated by intermediary consultations.
The consultation with Dr. Coussa is included in the cost of the endoscopy, allowing for a complete and coherent evaluation of your condition from the start, with no hidden fees.
Accessibility Without Required Referral
No medical referral is required to make an appointment. In addition, follow-up in the private sector does not prevent simultaneous follow-up in the public sector, providing optimal flexibility for your care journey.
Medical Transparency Based on Real Data
We report complication rates based on realistic scientific data, unlike some clinics that claim unrealistic 0% rates, which are statistically improbable. This transparency reflects our commitment to honest information and responsible medical practice.
Modern, Patient-Centered Clinic
Gastro EndoCare partners with modern clinics accredited by Accreditation Canada, ensuring a safe, professional environment that meets the highest standards of quality in healthcare.

FAQ
What are your fees?
What are the waiting times?
Once you contact us, we will confirm your appointment within one business day. We are committed to offering you a consultation or procedure date within the week.
Can I have follow-up care in both the public and private sectors at the same time?
Yes, it is entirely possible to have follow-up care in both the public and private sectors. Follow-up in the private sector does not prevent parallel care in the public sector, and vice versa.
Gastroscopy
Are the results of my endoscopy provided the same day?
Yes! Dr. Coussa will see you as soon as you wake up to explain your results in detail, along with a copy of the report. As a gastroenterologist, a treatment plan, if needed, will be established immediately after the procedure, with appropriate short- or long-term follow-up as required.
No more unnecessary delays!
Biopsy and pathological analysis results take a few weeks. You will be contacted as soon as they are available, whether the results are normal or not. We are committed to informing you promptly and guiding you throughout this process.
How long does a gastroscopy take?
You should arrive 30 minutes before the procedure for the necessary preparations. The examination, including the physician’s assessment and the gastroscopy, will take approximately 30 minutes. However, this time may vary depending on the endoscopy findings or anatomical particularities. After the procedure, you will remain in the recovery area for about 30 minutes, or longer if needed, until you meet the discharge criteria, are sufficiently alert, and the physician has reviewed your results with you.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is performed under conscious sedation, using an analgesic to relieve pain and a sedative, making the examination much more comfortable. As with any medical procedure, you may experience some bloating or discomfort, but the sedation will be adjusted according to your needs to ensure the most pleasant experience possible. Many patients fall asleep during the procedure and do not remember it. Your safety is our priority: your vital signs are continuously monitored throughout the procedure.
Will I be asleep during the procedure?
Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible. Although this is not general anesthesia but conscious sedation, the dose will be adjusted throughout the procedure according to your needs, while ensuring your vital signs remain stable and your safety is maintained. Every patient reacts differently to sedation, and many fall asleep without even remembering the procedure.

Should I stop taking certain medications before my procedure?
Some medications, such as anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs, or diabetes medications, may require adjustment or temporary discontinuation a few days before the procedure. It is important to consult your family doctor or treating physician for these adjustments.
A written prescription from your physician is required to stop anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs before the procedure.
Please note that aspirin (ASA) does not need to be discontinued.
Do I need to be accompanied for my procedure?
Although most patients feel well after the procedure, you may experience fatigue or slightly decreased concentration due to the medications administered; these effects are temporary. Your safety is our priority, so if you receive sedation, you will not be able to drive until the following morning. For your safety, you must be accompanied home.
Can I return to work and eat after the procedure?
Most patients feel well enough to return to work after the procedure. However, if you received sedation, wait until the following day to resume work or driving. Unless otherwise advised, there are no dietary restrictions after the procedure. A medical note will be provided if needed.
Feel free to discuss any concerns with us before the procedure to ensure a safe return to your activities.
What should I do in case of complications after the procedure?
Although complications after an endoscopy are rare, it is important to remain vigilant. If you experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, bleeding, or fever, you should go to the emergency immediately or call 911, as this requires intrahospital care.
Are there any contraindications?
Contraindications are rare and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. However, if you are pregnant, be sure to inform your physician before the procedure.
